Fearing God 10 - What it Looks Like (wrap up)

We live in an age where the grace of God has caused many to take God and sin lightly.   It is crucial that we really understand what it means to be in awe and deep respect of a perfect and holy God.   This alone will revolutionize the sloppy way in which we all are prone to overlook and justify the many daily sins.   But more than anything it is at the core of our need to glorify God in our thinking and believing.   It is an essential foundation to our trusting God fully.
In this class we wrap up with discussion on how to obey the command to Fear God and how to pursue this goal in our daily lives.   This is the final lesson in this series.

We live in an age where the grace of God has caused many to take God and sin lightly.   It is crucial that we really understand what it means to be in awe and deep respect of a perfect and holy God.   This alone will revolutionize the sloppy way in which we all are prone to overlook and justify the many daily sins.   But more than anything it is at the core of our need to glorify God in our thinking and believing.   It is an essential foundation to our trusting God fully.
 
In this class we are winding down to the last of this series by showing how Truth, and obedience, and worship are tied to and REQUIRE fearing God.
I bring up some questions about discussing the sins of others which clearly opened MANY cans of worms ... so next week we will deal with that thoroughly

Can we ever share about other's sins against us - 2 (Considerations and questions)

We are very close to the end of the "Fearing God" series and I brought up the warning about "sharing" with others details of other's sins against us.  This happens so often and is USUALLY done in a sinful manner with sinful motives and much aftermath.   This obviously was not a wise idea to bring up in the last 10 minutes as a "i really want to challenge you about this" ... SO ... we did the full hour LAST WEEK on the Theological issues guiding this discussion.  THIS week we will spent the hour further explaining and doing some answering.  We will most likely do a week of just discussion and questions next

We are very close to the end of the "Fearing God" series and I brought up the warning about "sharing" with others details of other's sins against us.  This happens so often and is USUALLY done in a sinful manner with sinful motives and much aftermath.   This obviously was not a wise idea to bring up in the last 10 minutes as a "i really want to challenge you about this" ... In this class we get start with some questions about whether or not we are living in the "fear of the Lord", then we head into the last 2 verses dealing with the fact that Fearing God is learned.  
I bring up some questions about discussing the sins of others which clearly opened MANY cans of worms ... so next week we will deal with that thoroughly

Progressive Sanctification Discussion

In this class I wanted to share some issues with progressive sanctification which ended up taking the whole class with about 10 minutes left to toss out some quick notes on "be angry and sin not" and "righteous anger" to answer the end of last week better
