Truth 4 Life Change

The greatest command is to Love God with our whole being.  If God commands this then His word is clear on what this means and how to do it.  This is our goal for the next number of weeks as we go through the topics of "loving God", "knowing God", "fearing God" and finally "trusting God".
 
In this class we are wrapping up the series with a few reminders and some discussion about how to grow in our cherishing and valuing of God above all.

In this class we are continuing the "so ... how do I do it?" part of the loving God discussion.  This lesson is primarily looking at the verses where we are shown that we have things to do on our end of this pursuit ... particularly that we must "die to self" in our pursuit of valuing Christ above all.

In this class we get "rabbit trailed" quite a few times, yet "on topic" as we seek to be honest about what salvation really is and how the Scriptures clearly teach that a true believer WILL love God.

In this class we spend the time discussing that emotions don't equate to love.   However, love is also not simply a choice to do a sacrificial act (1 Cor 13:1-3)   So where do emotions fit with God's love for us and our love for God?

In this class we spend the time discussing the important term "to keep" or "to observe" which have a very definite difference from the term "obey".  We will discuss what it means to have the commands of Christ really matter to us.

In this class, after briefly answering a question about "worship / singing in church", we will look at passages that show the need for obedience to be without hypocrisy.   Obedience that flows from love ... as opposed to "doing the right things" as some kind of proof or substitute for loving God.
