Truth 4 Life Change

The greatest command is to Love God with our whole being.  If God commands this then His word is clear on what this means and how to do it.  This is our goal for the next few weeks as we go through the topics of "loving God", "knowing God", "fearing God" and finally "trusting God".

Very few things are more encouraging, especially in our difficulties, than to know that God is not only in control of ALL things, but that He is fully purposeful in all that He brings into our lives.

It's just built in to our very nature to want to know "why?".   Especially when it comes to suffering, we long to understand what God is doing ... specifically.   Though we KNOW from multiple passages that God is always deeply purposeful in all that He orchestrates in our lives, we must be clear that God's thoughts and ways are beyond our understanding (Is. 55:8-9).   This lesson will focus on understanding the incomprehensibility of God.

The wisdom of God might be "easy" to agree with and claim.   However, when life "goes bad" one of our first reactions is often to wonder WHY this is happening to me?  There is the natural reaction to doubt the wisdom of God in my circumstances even if I don't come out and express it in those words.

Though Sovereignty is a rock to anchor too in suffering, it would feel cold and distant if it were not for the tender affection and care that God has for us.  We must know and believe how deeply God cares for us at all times, but especially as we suffer.

This is the last section on Sovereignty and why that is critical to know and believe as we face suffering.   We will wrap up the idea that God is sovereign over the "bad things" in our lives and end on seeing that He will do as He sees fit and is beyond questioning.
